Dashboard widget categories categorize widgets into different groups. 

You should navigate to the Administration—Dashboard Widgets page. 

The Dashboard Widgets UI is rendered as below. The widgets are grouped and listed as a table showing display name, description, and validation status columns. Use the Search box to filter the list.  

Click the Dashboard Widgets menu to navigate to the Widget Categories page. 

The Manage Dashboard Widget Categories page is rendered as below. The System category is the default category, containing all the widgets. The user categories are sorted alphabetically as below.  

Select the widget category to view the list of widgets linked to and not linked to that category. The UI is rendered below. 

You must use the checkbox to link the widget to the category. 

The selected dashboard widget is linked to the category as below.  

To remove the above widget from the category, you must navigate to Administration—Dashboard Widgets and search for the widget. Select the item from the list and click the Actions - Edit menu option.  

The Update Widget popup is displayed for modification. You must remove the existing category and select the default category as System. 

Scroll the window and click the Update button to confirm the changes.  

The dashboard widget changes have been updated, and a confirmation message is displayed in the top right-end corner. 

The dashboard widget is not linked to the category as shown below. 

Creating a dashboard widget category.

A new widget category can be created by providing a name for the new category and clicking the “Create” button.

The Create Widget Category popup window is displayed for configuration. Provide a name and click on the Create button to confirm.  The new category is added to the list when the page is refreshed. 

Remove the dashboard widget category.

A widget category can be removed by selecting it from the list and by selecting the “Actions -> Remove” menu item. 

Categorizing dashboard widgets

Widgets can be categorized by selecting a category from the list.  Selected and unselected widgets are rendered on the right side.  By selecting widgets, they will be automatically assigned to the selected category, as shown below.

Rename widget category.

Rename the widget category by selecting the Actions - Rename menu item.

For corrections, the Update Widget Category popup window is displayed. Click the Update button to confirm the changes.
