The Import function allows you to import an exported process definition into the application. The imported file overwrites the selected definition, making the changes irreversible. We suggest taking a snapshot of the process definition to recover the previous version.
On the Process Definition page, select the process from the table and click on the Import - XML menu option.
The Import XML popup window is displayed for configuration. Select the file from the local folder and click on Update Definition XML button. The file is imported and overwrites the selected definition. An alert notification message is displayed in the top right-end corner.
Import process definition Step properties
This function fetches a process step configuration in the imported process definition XML file and overwrites the existing step configuration.
This feature is useful when many process step configuration changes are to be made in the definition. The process definition is first exported by choosing the Properties menu option. This Excel file contains the definition ID, stepID, itemName, itemDescription, and step configuration values. The configuration changes are done in the Excel file and later imported into the process definition for reflection.
Please look at the following step configuration for a process step shown below. The objective is to change the “time zone” and “wait till” field values.
On the Process Definition page, select the process from the table and click on the Export - Properties menu option. The Excel file is downloaded to the local folder.
Open the Excel file and change the “time zone” and “wait till” field values. Here, the timezone and waitDateTime columns have new values.
On the Process Definition page, select the process from the table and click on the Import - Properties menu option. Select the modified Excel file from the local folder and click Update Definition List to confirm.
This function fetches a process step configuration in the imported process definition XML file and overwrites the existing step configuration.
The process step configuration in the workflow is updated with the new values.
