Use this step to fetch email template data.

getEmailTemplateData Step

Description:

This step fetches the email template data.

 

Inputs

  • templateID– Select a template to get data
  • varToStoreEmailTemplate– Variable/Global to store the email template data 
 

 

Returns

  • True – step executed successfully
  • False – step failed to execute

Example:

Let’s build and execute the “getEmailTemplateDataDef” example.          

  • Create a new definition called “getEmailTemplateDataDef”
  • Select the definition and click the “design” button
  • Drag a “getEmailTemplateData” step from the toolbox
  • Connect the dots between the start and “getEmailTemplateData” step 
  • Click the "getEmailTemplateData" step to configure its "Settings" properties. Provide a name to the step. Select a template from the drop-down list to get data. Provide variable/global data to store the email template after execution. 

 

  • Select a template from the drop-down list to get data.

 

  • The “Logging” setting configuration is necessary for documentation and also measures the workflow progress and the percent complete. This is achieved by configuring the step state and percent fields individually, as shown in the images below. Configure the “Logging” using the following properties.

 

  • Save the process definition, create a new process instance, and execute. Render the process instance. Click on the process step to view the properties. The step should get email template data.

 

  • You must navigate to the Create - Email Templates page to manage these templates. 

 

  • The email template used in this example is rendered for reference.
