Update waiting instances functionality allows the user to push changes made to a process definition to its sleeping process instances. 

When the process instance is in “Sleeping” status, click the “Utils -> Update waiting instances” menu item, the following message will be displayed:

Click the “OK” button, and the sleeping instance will be updated with the changes from the process definition.
