Eliminate Manual Updating in a BPM workflow environment

Learn to use Synchronize feature in FlowWright

Last published at: March 2nd, 2026

Today, most customers have multiple FlowWright environments: development, QA, and production. Developers may create steps, business objects, forms, workflow definitions, etc. These need to be ported to the QA environment so the QA team can test the built functionality. In most products, this must be done manually, even in some enterprise applications available on the market.

FlowWright simplifies this task with its user-friendly 'Synchronization' feature.  You can easily push from a source to a target environment or pull from the target to the source.  Navigate to Status > Synchronization page.

Synchronize lets you synchronize many different types of items within FlowWright; you can synchronize the following:

Select “Items” to synchronize configurable items like “Process, Forms, ET Process, Enterprise Service Bus, Dashboards, Users, Report Definitions, Decision Tables, Authentication, Telemetry Providers, Themes, and Menu Builder”.

Select “Configuration” to synchronize “Roles, Settings, Queues, Globalization, Lookup Data, Email Templates, and Database Schema.”

Select “Connections” to synchronize “Database, OAuth, RabbitMQ, FTP, SFTP, and Generic”.

Select “Triggers” to synchronize “Email, File System, RabbitMQ, MSMQ, FTP, and SFTP.”

Select “Packages” to synchronize “Process Definitions, Form Definitions, ETL Definitions, Enterprise Service Bus, Microservice(s), Applications, and Import Packages”.

How to synchronize “Themes” items?

Select Source and Target connections from the drop-down list. Click the “Connect” button. A confirmation message is displayed in the top-right corner.

Select “Items > Themes” menu.

The “Themes” items are listed in the source list. Items in green indicate that they do not exist in the target environment. Items in red indicate that they exist and have different properties. Use the Search textbox to narrow down the list.

Click the “Synchronize” button to start the process. Then click the OK button. The items are synchronized in the background, and a confirmation message appears in the top-right corner.
